Andy Johnson (Midfielder, Norwich City) - Played in the Premier League for Norwich before moving to Nottingham Forest for £2.2m in 1997. Also represented West Brom, Leicester and Barnsley. Switched his international allegiance to Wales, for whom he won 15 caps. Nicky Butt (Midfielder, Manchester United).

he no-nonsense midfielder, part of United famous Class of 92, went on to have a successful Old Trafford career, winning six Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League in 1999. Later played for Newcastle and won 39 senior caps for England. Now head of coaching in Man United's academy.

Nicky Butt went on to make 39 senior appearances for the England teamIan Selley (Midfielder, Arsenal) - an Arsenal trainee who went on to make 42 Premier League appearances, also winning the FA Cup and League Cup in 1993, and the European Cup Winners' Cup a year later. Suffered a broken leg in 1995 and was subsequently sold to Fulham. Julian Joachim (Forward, Leicester City) - Came through the ranks at Leicester and would score 25 times for them in the Premier League before joining Aston Villa in 1996.

Five years there was followed by spells at Coventry and mmogdp Leeds United. Also made nine England under-21 appearances. Alan Thompson (Forward, Newcastle United) - Helped Newcastle up into the first division in 1992, and later played in the top-flight for Bolton and Aston Villa, before a long and successful spell north of the border with Celtic.
